Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

HomePass ("we", "us") helps homeowners build a verifiable record of their property's maintenance, renovations, and inspections. We take the privacy of that record seriously because it can include sensitive financial and identifying information.

What we collect

  • Account information (name, email) you provide when you sign up.
  • Property details you add (address, year built, square footage, photos).
  • Documents you upload (invoices, permits, warranties, inspection reports).
  • AI-extracted metadata from those documents (dates, vendors, categories).

How we use it

We use your data only to operate HomePass — to display your timeline, generate shareable reports you explicitly create, and improve document detection accuracy. We do not sell your data and we do not share property data with third parties for advertising.

Costs are private by default

Every dollar amount you record is marked private until you choose to publish it. Shared and public reports replace exact figures with descriptive "Investment Tier" labels unless you turn that off per-entry.

Sharing

A property is private to you by default. You can grant access to specific people (realtor, contractor, family) by email, or generate a public link only when you choose to. You can revoke access at any time from the property's Privacy section.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication uses industry-standard session tokens. We will notify affected users within 72 hours of any confirmed unauthorized access to their records.

Your rights

You can export or permanently delete any property and all attached records from the property settings page. Deletion is irreversible and removes the record from backups within 30 days.
